I have concerns that the lighting that I am using for my frag tanks is not powerful enough to promote growth.
The lighting is on loan from a friend and consists of twin 150 m/h with pc lighthing on the sides of the fixture. It is an older Odyssea but the bulbs are only a couple months old.
I have set two 20 gal longs end to end with the 150(s) centered over each of the tanks.
I am using a rack that holds the corals (nearly all sps corals) about half way up in the tank and currently have the light bar set 7 inches above the tank.
The frags have only been in this set up a few days so there is no growth yet but I am concerned because the tanks just seem so dim.
I do not have a light/lum meter to check with certainty but I still think I am under powered
Would anyone care to share their opinion please
