I am really thinking on taking the plunge into LED's but haven't personally seen great growth on SPS from fellow reefers tanks around me that are using LED's. I know the Par rating, cooler running temps, and energy saving is all their but is the growth??? I'm have a SPS dominate display running MH lighting with great growth would love to see some before and after pics of SPS displays with LED's. I would need 4 AI fixtures to properly light my 120 Display and need a little reassurance before taking the $2000 plus plunge. Thanks all and can't wait to see some pic's.

I found myself reading that forum for 5 hours last night. There is a lot of good points made and different types of ways to go but AI still if my Fav from what i've seen.
Is it common that people have had to compliment the AI's with T5's or is it only with the Sol Whites. I'm thinking on buying the Sol Blues. Thanks

Here is some pics from my led switch. So far growth has been as good as the 4-400w mh the led replaced.

I prefer both T5 HO and Metal Halides to LEDs.
IMO, you will get a better shimmer effect from halides, better growth from either halides or T5s and better color with T5s.
A friend of mine switched to an AI light fixture, and he agrees with me - he had better growth and better color from both halides or T5s.

In those pics the led were running for around 2-3 months. Imo my growth is just as good if not better than when i was running 4-400w mh. The shimmer was def better with the mh, the led shimmer is ok. Im in the process of adding 4-80w t5 now, instead of running 2-160w vho. The color is actually a bit washed out in my pics, much more vivid in person. My camera skills arent the best

I think people run T5 whith the sol white to get the look they want (More blue). If you are one of those then the sol will suit you're preferance better as it has plenty of blue.
