I use the Reef Crest Mode (Yellow)...That wasn't an option on your poll...but its the one that I seem to gravitate to, and like the best.

sorry guys, I guess select "random" if you use ReefCrest or lagoon, I wish I could update!!! argh. I actually use Reefcrest as well, but I dont get the "wave" that I do when I use NTM, which I like to have.

FYI - I do reefcrest @ 100% all day and then night mode for the standard 8 hour period. I plan on getting a WXM module for my apex, then I will likely go with reefcrest during the day and lagoon at night.

I like reef crest a lot. I think the variation in high and low speeds. Lagoon would be great but I think the speed is too high on average for my system, I think my corals would just get blasted too much.

NTM would be nice but the constant pulsing is a bit too loud! Maybe if I could run that in non-viewing hours. Don't have an apex though!!

Logzor, what are you running on what size of tank? you can simply dial any of these modes down, so they dont get blasted.

I dont like the reef crest, it seems to spend too much time on lower than 60% of flow ... [I run mine on 100% flow]

so now I set up a constant wave mode .... making a ~~ 1" wave in my 150G tank, 100% . on all the time. it seems to wash the sand and within the rocks well. I also have a tunze 6105 blastng the surface.

I run my MP60 on a 150g tank, it's 48x30x24. The wide footprint works out really well with this pump.

While I could dial down something like lagoon mode, I would then lose the high burst of flow that helps stir up detritus.

I would rather use this wave within NTM mode, the only problem with a standing wave is it's not random enough, just back and forth. IMO.

This is why I went with two mp40's on my standard 180, becasue I felt that if I just went with the one mp60 (due to cost, with the intent to add another mp40 or 60 later), it would be too much flow in one side. Not saying you are wrong, as it's just my opinion, but with 72" to get flow for, I went for two 40's, but for 48",one mp60s not a bad choice.

I use reef crest mode all of the time, except when after I clean the tank and stir the sand up a bit, I use NTM for a few hours.

Interesting post for new people in vortech like me.

I'm going to buy my mp40 the next week for my 120g SPS , what do you think about this, it's the correct model for 120g? .

it will be a good start, but you'll likely eventually want another mp40 or even an mp10 for the other side so you can use the ecosmart modes.

I will eventually get another mp40 or mp10 for my back wall so I can have the "total" experience :)

yep, I am running 2 on my 120g and it is a little bit of an overkill IMO.
