sps lighting ?????

I have 2 250 20k hm and 4 vho's right now on a 24 deep" and 5' long "109G' tank and thinking of adding anther 250 or should I just go with just 2 400 20K I'am just sick of all the bulbs to chang
and i dont want to have run VHO actinics

Actually you dont have to run actinics in the first place. Its personal preference on what K rating bulb you go with. Just keep in mind if you go with a 250 watt 20000K you will get less PAR vs a 250 watt 10000K. I went with two 250 watt 14000K for my 120. Had enough blue for my liking and still had enough llight for SPS.

So its just preference on how much blue you want to your tank.

250W 14K's here too...I use phoenix bulbs and love the look, there is absolutely no actinic needed as long as you can handle a max lights on period of about 8 hours. I just have mine set for the afternoon when I come home from work.

Anyways, I think you could get away with what you have, but I would do the 400's instead of 3 250's if your set on upgrading. Another thing you could consider would be new reflectors...you can go more of a hexagon shape and get a little more surface area with them than the standard rectangular ones. I think coral vue makes a pretty nice one.

i will just sale the ice caps ballast and buy tow Vertex anybody ues this kind ballast they any cost 137.95 each vs 259.95 each
