SPS near leathers?

My 90g tank is dominated by SPS corals. However, in the lower left of the tank there are 2 leather corals (1 toadstool, 1 kenya tree). I am aware that leathers and SPS don't get along very well. I run a phosban reactor full of BRS ROX carbon constantly.

My question - how far away must SPS be from these leathers to thrive? Must I position them far away? Is there a real difference in a closed enviornment between putting them close vs. far from the leathers? The high flow of the tank carries any chemicals produced by the leathers throughout the water anyway...

Just wondering, since I have some empty space near the leathers that I would love to fill with frags - SPS if I can, zoas if not.

People say its not good to place leathers next to SPS. Honestly it doesnt matter. I have had leather coral and SPS live and thrive within inches of eachother for along time. You will be fine.

I have a 110 SPS dominated tank with a very large leather I’ve had for over 5 years. I have corals all around it some almost touching and never have had any problems. I run carbon and keep a high flow in that area. Just keep them from toughing and you will be fine.

I also have leathers very near sps without problems. Now something like a large sinularia would probably cause damage if it started to hang down over sps.
