SPS newbie!

Hi,

Going to start a 3ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft SPS tank and currently using 5 x T5 HO for lighting. If i put the sps on the top will 5 x T5 enough for SPS?

Lighting combo with all ATI tubes:

a)
blue +
aqua special
blue +
aqua special
blue +

or

b)
blue +
aqua special
blue +
aqua special
actinic

Which combo is better? Don't really have the cash to upgrade the lighting for now. If 5 x T5 is possible then i will start SPS if not i will stick to LPS and softies. Thanks!

I'm running 6 t5s (and a halide in the center) over my 36x2x20 tank. I'm running from front to back

Blue+
Purple+
Blue+
Purple+
Actnic+
Blue+

Without the halide I would replace the actnic with a aqua special or another "whiter lighter"

Is there any other light combo for 5 x T5 that will be better then what i propose? either with the arrangement or change out some of the tubes. Thanks!

I'd throw a Fiji Purple into the mix, personally, probably lose one of the aqua specials in 'A' to make room.

But it mostly IS a personal preference thing. The corals don't seem to care much as long as they're getting appropriate PAR.
