SPS placement under a 250 bulb?

Just checking here. I have a DE Ushio 14K and most of my acro's and Millies are 12-13 inches below the bottom of the pendant. Is that just right or should I bring them up a tad closer?

Color is fair to middle, really no PE. Flow is from a closed loop, OM Squirt powered by a Iwaki 20 (420 GPH). I think I maybe a little low on the flow side.

Cal @ 450
Mg @1180
Kh @ 7.4
Alk @ 2.63

I have my sps under 250 watts of SE 10K metal halides and they seem pretty happy. However, their colors seem somewhat faded so it may be a bit much for them.

I have the same wattage and same bulb.....It really depends on the coral, after a couple of weeks look at a newly introduced one, and move accordingly.

For instance, I just upgraded to the afore mentioned lighting and had a milli myself that has been stalling. I moved it to the location you said with LOTS of flow,(I reallly understand why people said that now....the PE is amazing), and it has taken off considerbly.

One, 250w pendant over a 58? I have two over my 75 and like I said recently upgraded to the 250s from 150s and have no problem anywhere top to bottom now. I could only see you having dim edges of the tank. I say in the middle is cool, but LOTS of flow I think is just as important for these guys.
Alk seems a bit low I shoot for 9dkh/3.20 meg/l
Mg is a little low, Bring up closer to 1300
Ca on the upper end A little high for balance where Alk is now would be alright if Alk was closer to 9dkh......I think 420 is balanced at that level of Alk.....
