So I have been battling aefw and menb and I'm loosing. I have a 75 gal that is just for softies but my light is going bad so now I'm growing a ton of algea. This tank has been running for 4.5 years and has been neglected since my other tank is sps and is more demanding. Should I just break down this tank and scrub it with viniger? Ditch the rocks( minus the coral) and the sand? Go bb tank? I'd have to transfer over water from my other tank wich isn't a problem. Alot of my coral are attached to rocks so I'd also be transfering some lr. After I dip everything. Do you think I can get away with a 250 mh. My other tank runs 2 400 watt mh. How long should I keep everything out of my dt? Any other tips or comments would be great.

250w MH lights are fine. Just make sure you have a nice reflector. Not sure what to tell you about your other problems but good luck with the treatment. Setting up a qt tank might not be a bad idea. The only problem is that by the time the qt tank is fully cycled to handle your bioload, you corals high have lost their battle with pest.

Some serious dips might be your best treatment at this point.

This is something I've been thinking about. My sps is a 200 gal tank. Should I just take 50 gal out of it?Put it in the 75. Will I still have the break in cycle if I go with another 25 gal or less of new water? If I keep the water from the 75 I'm gonna have to put my gfo reactor in it to remove the po4. Plus still get my params in check.

Btw I've been dipping huge pain and they keep coming back. Still going to do it till I figure out what I'm going to do.
