SPS recovery or not?

I have a really nice multi branch frag of pink lemonade that got knocked off a frag rack onto a chalice. Obviously the chalice won the battle. I rescued it before it was a total loss. I am wondering if the now white piece will recover or if the dead should be cut off. The white burnt tissue extended down a large branch and a little bit onto the main body of the frag, the rest of the frag looks healthy good PE and the tissue damage has stopped.

I've found that the coral seems to grow faster over the skeleton rather than growing a whole new branch.
