Ok I have been on the sps trip up and down that road 3 times now I want to start over with lps can anyone give me some input into which LPs would compare to lets say strawberry shortcake acro (sps)= what name in LPS,
Red Planet sps = what in comparison in lps ..guess i want a comparison like must have lps those two above are always must haves sps so what lps would you say is a must have in any lps collectors tank? hope that made sense any input is appreciated.

LPS tends to stay away from the crazy names. The must haves are rainbow acans, any named chalice (convict chalice, flaming bugatti.... anything by cornbread, Jason fox, or tyree), any ultra scoly, yellow/gold/orange euphyllia.... idk there's tons of stuff out there

Good man! LPS are so underrated. Check it

For sway

Elegance (fluro green with pink/purple tips)

Hammers (the two tone green with purple tips is my favourite)

Torch corals and frogspawns get an honourable mention but are generic in their colour variations; brown/purple or green. Also is a dirty orange colour but it is too $$$

For actinic pop

Zoas - such an amazing range or colours (yellow under actinic is amazing)
Plate corals - Great bursts of colour, orange is a MUST have.

Acans and rics are sweet too but they they are big $$$ and IMO zoas are just as good.

Actinics make LPS > SPS
In real life they glow, it's eerie, you won't understand how awesome it is until you see it. Photo doesn't do them justice, apologies.

I'm thinking about making the switch too :(
I have a TON of flow in the tank and was my concern is I will have too much flow for LPS, I can always pull out a Tunze, but I also have (4) 400w MH....
Will this be too much light?

IMO yes. You will cook the LPS if you do not acclimate them properly, which is probably a given, but you might want to consider moving some things down the sand bed if you go this route.

Good luck. LPS are the best !
