sps wanted - online?

I have a 175 gallon with lots of corals, but no sps. I don't really have the patience to watch a 1 inch frag grow. Can you recommend a place where I can get some sps corals that won't break the bank? How about online? Any place that is good, reliable and not a fortune? I want to buy a bunch of pieces.

I live in NYC and the stores around here are very expensive.

Wrong hobby!-- need patience.

Oxymoron-- colonies for cheap.

Although there may be a couple of breakdown here and there where u can get some deals, if you buy bulk.

you can look at live aquaria diver den. That will probably be your best bet if you're looking for full colonies that are somewhat affordable. I'm not sure what is a deal to you, but they should have something you like. They also update their inventory every weekday at 3pm. sign up for their email alert.

i will get the stuff from a local club you will spend more money on line with shipping.i also think that the best thing is to grow the corals yourself, but is up to you.

Look in the Live stock sale section of this forum. You really cant beat the deals to be had there. Normally hobbyists will give much larger frags than any store out there for the price.

I agree, unless you get lucky with a tank break down you're not going to be too lucky with a cheap website. Unfortunately, in this hobby sps corals are only affordable by purchasing a small frag and letting it grow out. So, time and patience is the key to having a well established sps tank. That's why we compliment people with nice grown out tanks because we appreciate the time and effort that went into them.

Vivid Aquarium has great stuff online. They are located in CA and I've actually been there. The store is amazing and they ship great items. The place closest to Vivid in quality is right in NYC called Manhattan Aquarium on 37th between 10th & 11th. Another really good store with great color. Online they are known as Unique Corals.

If you are looking to grab something with some size, look into getting a nice montipora digitata from a hobbyist. Usually, you can fine a 3 inch frag from people if you look hard enough.
