where and what site should i go to to read and learn how to keep sps hard coral? i want to by a 400+ gallon tank and make it a sps tank so wanted to learn more about them ? thankss

If you've never kept corals before, I would start with a small tank like 75G and see how that goes first. If you find yourself successful on a smaller scale, then you can make plans for for a larger tank. 75g is a good size tank that still has decent volume to be forgiving and plenty of space for you to grow corals for your larger tank. If you happen to flop, your significant other give you an ultimatum on her or the tank must go, you have a bad accident and has to replace your new hardwood floor, you electrocuted yourself, or if you develop a bizarre allergy to saltwater....then you can sell your craps and get out of the hobby without any significant damage. A 400+ system will involve some kind of permanent construction/alteration of your abode and lots of cash. There is a significant learning curve here and most of us who've been in this hobby long enough will tell you we made plenty of costly mistakes before achieving success.

There is a Large Tank Forum on this board that chronicle other people's experience in building large tanks....go there and dream about your tank. As for your livestock/corals, take my advice and start small before going big.

I agree with the above pretty much. Once you figure out how to get your parameters in order, especially if you use dead rock, anything you keep as long as you give it the proper environment should pretty much become a breeze, at least it seemed that way for me.
