Squamosa Clams from vho's to HQI's

Tonite I was at a lfs and ran across some Squamosa Clams. They were pretty cool clams. I know from reading here that they are low light clams. THe LFS have them under some vho's and I was wondering if I get one how can I acclimate them to my tank with 4 vho's and 2 250 hqi's?

Also, can they be place on rock or in the sand?

I keep mine directly under (37" from the bulb) 400W MH's and VHO combo. Mine is on the sandbed. Be sure to check the lighting it's currently under then try to match it as close as you can at first. If you place it on the sandbed it's easy to move, either closer to/away from the light.

Like Kevin I have a 12 inch squamosa that is now under a 400 watt MH. Aprrox. 30 inches from the bulb.
