Square Anthias Harem Behaviour

Hi all, I have had a trio of square anthias for about a month now, I have 1 male and 2 females, but I am starting to see some aggression from the male towards the two females. He chases them around every once in a while and has nipped a little chunk of fin from the smaller female. Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. Male/female roles are.determined by social situations. If the females donr
don't receive enough aggression, 1will begin to transition into a male.and be a possible rival forthe existing.male.

Have a male and three bimacs and same thing has happened. The male spends most of the day keeping the females in line. Also have a female with chewed tail resulting from the chasing. Yes it's normal.
