Square portable water tanks locally?

Anyone know if there is a place local that might sell something like this? I like the rectangular shape because it would take less space in my garage. I could order online, but want to avoid the shipping charge if possible.

BTW - I know they sell square portable water tank for RV's and boats, but they are usually not tall. Like the dimension of the tank above because it has a small footprint.

Robert that would be great. How much do you want for it? Can i pick it up at a meeting? I am hoping to eventually get two of them - one for fresh RODI water and one for saltwater mix.

I'll post a few photos tonight Minh, just to make sure you're happy with it.

N/C, I'll bring it down 1/15. You can invite me to Monterey next time you go diving.

Didn't realize how small this was Minh before I offered. Its 18x12x24 + 22 gallons. It's yours if you want it.

Not to hijack your thread, but as an alternative have you thought of making your own custom reservoir from 6" PVC pipe? You could use another diameter but the end caps/fittings start getting pretty expensive. For evey foot in length of 6" pipe you can store about 1.5 gallons, for an 8" pipe, 2.6 gallons. You could custom make these to whatever area you have available, and use them horizontally or vertically. The pvc drills and taps easily for installing fittings.

To get the volume though, it would need to be pretty tall, 5' would be 15 gallons for the 6" and about 19.5 gallons for the 8". Also, how would you keep that from topping over? I was wondering if a tank could be built with scrap acrylic?

I'll take it if minh doesn't want it! I'm looking for a 20 gallon top off reservoir.

Tina if your interested Jack over at Aquarium Depot has a few dozen 29 gallon glass tanks that use to be for reptiles I can get you one for around $20 bucks at the most less if we catch him in a good mood lol and if you need it drilled let me know how big of a hole and where you want it drilled can be done when you pick it up I can do it

Can a tank used for reptiles be used again as an aquarium? Also, worried about an aquarium that actually looks like an aquarium with the husband. He doesn't understand about top off or sumps, he just sees another tank and gets nervous ;)

Robert,

I am interested in the tank. It would be perfect for dosing kalk. I will still need two larger tanks for RODI water and saltwater mix.

I'll bring it down on the 15th Minh. Let me know if you're gonna be able to make it to the meeting. If not, someone I can give it to so you can pick up.

Happy New Year!

Robert - anytime you want to go diving, give me a call. I'd love to drive up to Tahoe and dive the lake and maybe stop by and see your tanks. :D

Doug - thanks for the recommendation. The tanks they have looks nice, but I like the compact size of the orginal tank that I looked it. I may just end up purchasing two (when funding becomes available) and finish my water storage area. I need to recoup space in my garage. :D

there's a place in benecia that has a bunch of different barrels and such. food grade. they have an ad on cl. might be worth a try. hope they can help.

Robert, you dive in Lake Tahoe? And Minh, you sound excited to do it! Brrrrrrrr....how cold is the water up there, and what kind of stuff is there to see?

:D

Come on Matt! I know that you are known to jump into that big body of water that is in your neighborhood.

48 degrees at 80 feet and very refreshing in the summer.

I tried to get my daughter to go out on Sunday for her 15th birthday, but she had a problem with the snow coming out of the sky. Jeez. Kids these days.
