My 5 week old squasmosa fell from the rocks last night. I awoke tofind him lying on the sand kind of on his side. There was a little tissue left at the point he was perched possibly part of a byssal gland. I re perched him but I dont think he will be able to anchor until his gland heals. (That is if it heals) has anyone ever tried to gluea clam in place maybe only one valve of the shell. Any other advise on helping this guy stay put greatly appreciated.

btw he is not in the sand bed because he constantly fell over and I figured in the wild clams are up on the rocks.

thanks Randy.

Squamosa won't stay put

From what I have been able to find on the subject, it seems Squamosa clams prefer substrate to rock. I have also read suggestions that you could "prop them up" with small rocks on either side, as long as the rocks don't interfere with the shell opening.
