St. Jude tanks.

hey guys, when we do this maybe we can get the commercial appeal to come down and take pics/write an article etc. maybe a few people will feel compelled to donate a little extra they have laying around to the children and their causes. <~~steve

My husband said this sounds like a good human interest story. If yu want coverage, I think we can have Channel 24 cover it.

I would love to help. I have been dreaming about a reef tank for more than a year. Since I do not have the money to set up the tank I really want, I would be glad to lend an inexperienced hand to get these tanks up and running. Let me know what the schedule is and I will see when I can help.

Thanks.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the interest and sorry about my absence from RC. Scott, Richard, and I are working on this endeavor and I'm hopeful that this will be something that resonates (positively) for our club for years to come. The next club meeting we'll be discussing the tanks and what will be expected of a "St Jude Volunteer." I'll also have applications for everyone. More to come! If you would please hold back some frags for the tanks I would appreciate it.

I need to try and get a number of how many people will be participating as volunteers for the tank mantinence. I'll have applications at the next meeting.

Oh, yeah. If anyone can't get to the April meeting please let me know via PM or e-mail and i'll get an application to you somehow.

The tanks are not in good enough shape to put anything in them right now. There is a LOT of work to be done before we get to that point. There is also no skimmer, no lights, no live rock, etc. Once we get them setup and running with proper lighting, filtration, etc. we will gladly donate frags to these tanks. If we added frags now, it would be pointless.

richard what kind of equipment will the tanks need? Specifics with lights, and skimmer. just asking.

I'm not a member of this club but have always donated in one way or another to ST. Judes. I have a sizeable pink monti. cap. that I'm willing to donate to this project when it's ready.

I'd be glad to help. I have done quite a bit of cabling in St. Jude a few years ago and always enjoy my time spent there. As well, I am not a member of the club,,,yet,,, but am planning on joining soon.

Dave - are you volunteering, too? That is great!

Even though we didn't set them up or supply the tanks we did donate live rock (M.I. and FL AC) to fill them . As I've never seen them I don't know what made it into them.

And yes I'm volunteering anyone that I might have some pull with and that would be a asset.

I know that you folks already know this, but I like to remind you that guys and gals are doing awesome thing for St. Jude. Not only will it be great for the kids, but it will benefit the parents the most because they are going thru a tough time in their life. I know when I view my reef tank, it gives me alot of joy and happiness and I hope it do the same for them. So, thank you, guys and gals, I wish I could be there, if you folks need anything just pm me
