Stacker (mod'd maxi's)

Stack, I was wondering whats up with those moded maxi's? I'd Like one for my 29 that'll be SPS soon. Not sure what size I'll need, but I got an extra 900 and a 1200 laying around if it's cheaper to just have you mod one of mine.

doody i just had stack get me a 1200 and it works great. I have another one coming in the near future. You should be in good shape with either of those IMO if you do all SPS.

Robert, the both actually put out about the same flow. The 1200's a notorious for running hot so yu might want to just mod the 900. The parts I make require no tools and no modification to your 900. Just disassemble yours, insert the impeller/propeller mod. attach the cowl and mounting bracket (use 3 large MJ suction cups) and plug it in. $30 for everything but the pump. Add $20 for a new pump.

I also did a Penguin 1140 (runningin my tank now) will do an AquaClear 301 next week, and an Eheim 300 when the guy gets it to me to look at. I have the parts to make you a mod kit but the pumps I have are already sold with others on the way that as of today are sold too. One 900 will make your 29 boil dude! I kid you not, ask Ryan about the movement in my 120 from one. 2 in his 240 will give his some good flow. We may have to hotrod his 2 eventually to see what we can actually get out of them.

Yea one in my 240 uped the flow dramatically. I was impressed. it literally blew my leather over which was over a foot below where i placed the pump and 2 feet away. it was literally on its side, i had to move the pump up.

Ryan, I have 2 in my tank now! The flow is astounding yet the fish are cool with it and nothing is blowing around. Maybe the 1200 is a bit stronger in that short distance current. I may have to test them side by sde

what it all seems to come down too in my tank was the height in the tank. once i got it right it seemed as if it was just pumping a nice normal flow about. Can't wait for another one, I also may be getting one of them tunze units and scraping my closed loop but we'll see once you check it out

Ya, check out the mod thread. Basically you cover my cost and shipping if you have the right Ph I can send you the parts. Or I can sen you a new 900 modified, bracket and all. I have parts for 8 mods. and just got some 4-900's via UPS about 10 min. ago. I'll be making parts in the shop tomorrow and have stuff ready to go by the end of the week or earlier (if work doesn't get in the way)
