320g tank. 8' long. I am thinking of using 2 2X6 for each header supported by 2X4s. I want to run a span of 48" without support in front only, so I can have enough space to slide the sump in. I want to use 2X6 so I can have clearance for 22" tall sump.
You don't need to double up the headers for that to work. A 2X6 supported at 48" intervals with an 800 pound load per span (320*10/4=800) gives you a maximum deflection of about 0.05" for that one span.
