Stand Question

I would like to re-paint my stand. More like probably stain it, it currently was painted with spray paint a few years ago.

I understand I will need to sand it (i believe a orbital sander could help with this). Any suggestions on this process, and hings I might be missing, since sanding is time consuming, want to make sure I do it right :-)

Thanks,

Jeff

Do you know what's under the paint? In order to stain, you really need to start with "stain grade" wood, if you want it to look good. If your stand is built with pressboard, forget the stain, you can give it a light sanding then prime and paint. If it's pine, you can probably do a stain finish, and have it come out nice. If it's hardwood, that's what stain finish is made for.
First step is to determine what you're working with.

Thanks, I'll have to take a look not entirely sure since it was painted when i bought it as part of a package like 6-7 years ago.

Thanks for the input.

Just use a light primer first and a little sanding.
