Stand reinforcement

What's up everybody got this brand new marineland stand from living color. With no tank on the stand it feels pretty solid.
Now with the empty tank on there it doesn't feel as solid and seems to almost flex if I push on the tank.

Seems a little sketchy. Any suggestions ?

But really. If the manufacture makes it for that size tank you'll be fine.

Yeah I know that's my train of thought but the fact the empty tank on the stand doesn't feel 100% solid sketches me out a lot.

Honestly, I'd role with it. Look at it this way, if you level your stand and tank that they sell for one another and it breaks then they will cover costs... if you buff it up because you are worried, then out the window all of that goes. You are just used to seeing everybody using 2x4s and lag bolts for there 40g tanks lol. It's super overkill considering the entry level stands that are made even for up to the 120g (that I know of) are made of 1/2" pine boards and staples....

No I completely understand what you're saying. My 90 gallon is a marineland stand as well, same exact construction just for a 90 gallon and it feels solid and does not have any give to it.

The thing that scares me is the fact the tank does not feel 100% solid empty. If I push on the tank, it and the stand moves back and forth, not much, but more then it should. I'm not sure about you but that's a red flag.

If the stand fails, I am on a second floor condo, I have to worry about the people under me, my flooring, everything. That can easily turn into a 10-20k mess because of a faulty stand. If it fails marineland isn't going to cover any of that

Perhaps you could return it for another then? FWIW my stand and tank wobbled before anything was in it and still does now, granted it's a biocube stand and Nuvo 10g on carpet third floor apartment. (Point is its a piece of crap but still does what it's made for)

Best I can say is return for another or make a stand maybe? Can't really help you other than the facts of it is a manufacturer made stand that is sold to go with that tank and once level is warranted.

Not that it has happened to me before, but if you could prove that it was leveled (pictures) then they would indeed have to cover ALL of the damage regardless as it would be a defect in there equipment.
