Standalone Wavebox is all you need...

I do not belive that a 2nd circulation pump is needed with a wavebox. I have a 180gal AGA with dual built in overflows. After the last of my 3 circulation rio 2600s broke (1 week ago). I decided to try the wavebox. Because the overflows are in the corner, the wavebox is mounted towards the front of the tank with 1 magnet (as the lip of the tank supports the top). The wavebox is INCREDIBLE. It definitely lifted and suspend detritus...HOWEVER, it also creates a nice circular flow in the tank as you can see with the detritus moving. I would imagine that with the amount of water that is being moved and this general circular flow nothing else would be needed.

One problem is that at night I would like the Wavebox to act like a regular stream...to keep up some waterflow. As opposed to the photosensor turning off the wavebox. Can this be don?

Not sure, because im still waiting for mine in the mail....:mad2:

Im so impatient. Its supposed to be here today or tomorrow. We will see.

Is it really that incredible?I cant wait! Does it lift dirt out from behind rocks?

After installation and setting it...my tank is now full of tiny detritus! This really is an essential piece of equipment.

I was just at the offices of Tunze France and he believes the same. Myself and Mr Tunze disaagree, he is continuing with some experiments which in a couple years will give a definitive answer but until now I am sticking with my advice of using it only with Streams.
