Honestly, there's no one on RC that will be abel to give you a definitive answer in the difference other than when you've dealth with as many as I have you just know after awhile..'. That aside, ones we see popular in the hobby are considerably smaller than your typical A. lordhowensis. And aside from Verons description being nearly identical and in fact mentions the similarities between the lordhowensis and the Micromussa amukensis, he does offer us some measurements in identifiying the M. amukensis:
Characters: Colonies are cerioid with neat angular corallites up to 8 millimetres diameter. Septa have 1-3 large teeth. Colonies have a thick fleshy mantle usually covered with fine papillae. Colour: Brick-red or green in northern Japan, grey elsewhere. Similar species: , which has larger, less uniform corallites containing more septa. See also Acanthastrea lordhowensis
Now can this be used to distinguish the difference from the A. lordhowensis? Dunno, he didnt say Your guess will be just as good as everyone elses here
