Star Grass

Hi,

I am starting this thread basically because I have been searching

many online stores over the past week for star grass. I really

can't wait to get some of this in my tank so I thought that maybe

someone else would know where it is currently available? Or

might have some available (coughyou'dbemyfavoritepersoncough)

Following along, I too am going to be in the market for some in a month or so.

I have never seen any retailers selling this species. Currently I don't even know where you can find any Halophila species.

I know. I can't believe that retailers haven't figured out that this is a plant that I feel many people would like to keep.

I bet some people have it in their tank. I've read that even a 6 to 8 plantlet string has a very good survival rate on tank to tank transfers.

Talk to Russ at Gulf Coast Ecosystems. I asked him about it after I received a few single plant stargrass hitchhikers in some shoal and turtle grass orders. He said that he sees it occasionally but not in large quantities. He also said that GCE might have a new source for stargrass from a company that restores seagrass beds.
