Star Wars themed saltwater tank.

Kinda works, yoda looks like a frog anyways. I really cant believe that really exists. Im speechless.

Personally I would go for an underwater Endor. Plastic replicas of tall trees with tree-houses, walkways, all submerged underwater with fish swimming through them, with a mat of zoa's, GSP on the ground..... it could work.

ps. is there any way to incorporate bikini Leah into this?

Would work better with freshwater....simply because anything you put in a reef tank will be covered in coralline purple in no time.

Coins,

If you choose to go freshwater (which I recommend as well), please be sure to update this thread with pictures. I don't care that this is a saltwater forum, I want to see the finished product!

Thinking along the extreme investment line, there's a guy on here with a "volcano" reef (very cool). Lot's of interesting things to do if you that route. You could have the X-wing partially submerged.

I think it's a terrible idea and I'd never do it myself........but hey, if the OP thinks it'll be cool, I at least want to see pics when it's done!

I think a saltwater deathstar trash compacter scene theme is the way to go.. But switch over Leah's outfit to the Return of the Jedi Jabba bikini.. I'm not a doctor.. Juss sayin.. lmao

wait wait wait.... we're all forgetting Jar Jar Binks and his underwater city.

me-sa thinks you-sa crrraaaazzzyyy! Annie! Annie!!!!!!

Would really need more sand people and the 70 year old obi wan to pull that off.. at least that is how it is in the REAL underwater city.. lmao

You could make this work as a reef tank, but as anyone will tell you here, don't bother painting anything. I agree that this will work better as a freshwater planted tank, and will be able to get the look you want... that dagobah swamp...

Don't listen to the haters on here, I think it's cool. And as an avid Star Wars fan, I'd love to see pics when you make it happen.

May the force be with you, young padawan. Don't forget the sandpeople choir.

You should totally do it. And don't listen to the haters, or even those suggesting freshwater. I have seen quite a few really neat macro algae tanks, a Dagobah themed macro algae tank would be pretty easy to pull off and would look pretty cool. I'm in, lets see some pictures!

Here's a tank with some good use of plastic decor. You can see how covered in coralline it will become. This one looks pretty cool in my opinion.

:spin2:To each there own. Id love to see this pulled off Star Wars is a great movie that keeps re creating itself and continues to be popular. I wouldnt paint the X-wing either but on the safe side i would use like a clear marine safe epoxy or sealer. Yeah it will be covered in coraline algea but you can always remove the algea with some work. POST PICS!!!!!

I think it would be kinda cool. An X-wing surrounded by some live rock, maybe get some caulerpa and let it overgrow the ship. Add some snails, a couple of hermits, a few soft corals growing on the outskirts, etc. Go for it!

I'm with most people on this post. I would never do it in my own tank, but I'd be pretty interested in seeing how it turns out in someone else's.
I don't think I'd ever do a theme tank, I just prefer things to look as natural as possible, but I can't argue with anyone who wants to do something different with their own tank. I remember someone else saying they wanted to (but hadn't yet) make a football-themed tank where GSP made the grass, some forked SPS made the goal posts, and zoas or something made up players on the field.
If you can pull it off and it doesn't look sloppy, I say go for it.
At the end of the day, it's all about what makes you happy. If Star Wars in your reef tank gives you passion, you're on the right track.
