Are strafire glass tanks mail order only or does any one know if they can be purchased locally?

You can order one through Glass Cages I believe. They'll bring it into town for you.

Glass Cages sells them, but they call it low iron glass.

I read a bad review of glass cages here on reefcentral which is why I asked if there was a local shop. I'll take the risk and give glass cages a call on Monday.

BTW: does anyplace locally sell prestone driveway heat or a suitable calcium chloride? I checked a few home depots today but no luck.

I think that as long as you give specific instructions on what you want you'll be OK. There are a few here in town who bought Glass Cages tanks and love them.

although you may have read bad reviews here on RC, you will also get very good reviews from a few local reefers here that have had very good experiences with GC....ImLon2 has had a few and a few others as well will vouch for them

IM LON 2 has had 2 tanks from Glasscages, A 240 and now a 180 and both of his tanks were just as good as any other tank out there. I'm ordering a 280 w/low iron from glasscages in or around April/May. As cancapo said try wallyworld or Lowes for the driveway heat.
