Anthony - Awesome offer, bro! :dance: I have no idea what's up with my purple haze monti. It's the same size as I got it a month ago!! The colors are awesome, but it's not taking off, and isn't it supposed to be a fast grower? I don't know what's up cuz my Superman and Pokerstar are growing. Maybe not enough nutrients in my tank? Up until a week ago, I only had 2 firefish, a diamond goby, a 6-line, and 2 cleaner shrimp. I wasn't feeding much. I've since added a powder blue and 4 anthias, feeding heavy now. Noticed a bit more coloration in the last week.
Here's a pic of my aquascape. You can't see the my purple haze here, but it's on the highest tip of my right-mound of rock (next to my pink mille). It's about as high as I can get it. And it's in a pretty high flow area.
Got any secrets for me, Mr. Miyagi? And don't tell me it's not growin cuz I need a supermod wavebox for it to take off!! lol

Have you ever try to put it lower? I have mine on the bottom of the tank. Most monti don't dig alot of light. What kind of light system do you have? Also check your magnesium bring it up to 1300 to 1400 level. I feed my coral every night so they grow pretty quick. But because I'm crazy and have 2 skimmer in my system...:rollface:

Anthony - I lowered my p. haze 2 days ago to the ledge. Maybe I'll stick it on the sandbed for a while and see how things go. The reefer I bought it from told me "high light", so I put it as high as I could.
Jonathan - My alk is steady at 9.
My other params:
Ca 440
pH 8.2
Mg 1300
trates zero
All tested via Tropic Marin

Nice to meet you too Terry. I can still remember that Cal/Stanford game...I was a teenager and my Dad told me th egame was nearly over. There were just a few seconds left and he bet me Cal would win. I took the bet figuring there was no way that was going to happen. Then it did.
But before collecting his cash, he turned the VCR off. Doh! Too damn funny. My Mom was a teacher at Cal at the time.
Regarding the coral, I was just curious about the alk. I have a nice frag I picked up from Ultimate Frags, but it isn't doing much either. It's still on my rack, so maybe a change of location will help.
