start of a new adventure 265gal starphire

haha new coral???You have plenty...When I transfer my 150 to the new 265 then I realize I have too much coral in my old tank.

For my tank I don't have to put a valve to control the flow going to the skimmer since I have a bigger one than your's but for your case just put a 3/4'' valve so you can dial in the flow. The water level of the skimmer is right at the neck without overflow.

Thanks Pal how was your drink with Sherman?

It went well. We took off and visited with a local reefer we met at the PSAS event hosted at my place. His name is Kevin and he has a terrific build. Just up an running for a couple months now, but looking really good.

if you want to borrow and take some picture of yourself wearing thong just LMK......:-)

might crack your lens :D nice night shots!

Probably a bit small to run your entire house Anthony, and you are looking at the very low end of gensets. I need about a 45kw for my house. If you want to look at better quality units, check out Cummins/Onan et. al.

3,000 hours of run time doesn't sound that great to me.

I don't need it for the whole house just for my reef tank when I'm away on vacation. I only need to run the return pump and the tunze pump. I did look at the cummins onan but it cost twice as much.

I think it looks good. Good idea to get one before summer rolls around. Do you get rolling blackouts down south like we do in NCAL?

not a lot around my area since I'm very close to the beach. But on heavy holiday like labor day sometime I will lose power. I don't want to risk my tank since my tank crash before due to power outage and this time I have too many nice corals to risk it.

You laugh but Steve Weast stocked his experimental cold water tanks with mostly stuff from Puget Sound:

"go to work" ummm, WHATEVER!

Jonathan, I love West's coldwater tanks. He's got some really nice livestock in there.

Anthony, I'm hungry. You deliver pizzas up my way? :D delivery in 30 minutes or less, or it's free, right??

so how many more pizzas will you need to sell for generator :D ? well the generator you were looking at has 16 circuits, which mean you have to wired all of them separately. if you get the larger one that has 200amp transfer switch can be wired directly to your main panel, and not having to wired individual circuits.
