All I have to say is OMFG slow down man , its nice to have new corals and livestock but not at your expense and thier health . They may seem to make it through healthy enough but thier lifespans will diminish with the stress put on them even if they make it through . BTW if your LFS know what you are doing and still sell you this stuff they suck . I hate stores like that . I also agree that the cyano outbreak is a byproduct of an uncycled tank and red slime remover or not , without a skimmer you will be dealing with it for a while . Good luck all the same .

All I can say is... I agree. I think I have a disease... AND the fact that my only decent LFS is 45 mins away doesn't help either, considering that I dont want to waste a visit there when I get the chance to actually go there.

Now about this LFS sucks thing. I find it hard to believe that a LFS actually asks you what size tank he is going in, ect. So I guess my LFS does suck since they never ask me any of that stuff. I sure wish I had a store that was that nice, and didn't take advantage of customers.

Oh, and the goby is a Diamond Watchmen Goby, not sleeper.

And thanks ShiftNation for being so respectful (seriously)

That's of course if you even care about the animals, which I find hard to believe because you keep flooding this poor 24 gallon tank.

Now THIS, I find very disrespectful, and unthoughtful. I respected you post until I read this. That is just flat out rude! Of course I care for the animals. I should have to prove my self to you anyways.

Thank you for taking it the right way , because I was in no way trying to be direspestful , just shocked lol . I use to work in LFS's and any I worked in our 1st exchange with a customer would be like this : What size tank or tanks do you have ? Are they cycled ? If they didnt know ahat cycling was we would start at square one . What livestock are currently in the tank ? WHat lighting and filtration do you run ? Then from there we can make some good suggestions on what would compliment the tank and what would do bad in it . Thats not to say that customers wouldnt listen and want to buy things anyway . Sometimes I would even turn them down if I felt the animal would suffer . Others and me sometimes would just want to bypass the hassle and let them get what they wanted but inform them of the hazard and then some would even relenquish and change there mind . They might be upset at 1st but then 90% would be happy once they realized we were trying to help them and other stores just wanted cash . Some stores need the money and dont discern which I can understand but I dont sympathize . Like I said before good luck and dont necessarily follow everything everyone says but use common sense and follow what sounds right for your situation . In the end youll have a much more beautiful and healthy tank and you will be glad you took your time .

Yeah, I have to aggree. I just really wish a LFS around here did that kind of stuff. All they really want is money. A few select people at the LFS ask, but all others just pack the item and you check out. Thanks for the help!

You can take it however you want, because I don't care about you or what you think of me. I (like other people) care about the livestock in your tank, and a few comments you have made already exploit how little experience you have. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Anthony Calfo/Randy Holmes-Farley/Griss/whomever, but I do care enough about my inhabitants to do some reasearch before I buy. And the fact that you have flooded a 24 GALLON tank that's only a month old with all this stuff has me concerned.

There have been at least half a dozen warnings to slow down, and stop, and you have disregarded every single one. I figured the next one needed to be a bit more harsh for you to take notice, and by george, it worked :D

About LFS', every one I goto could list my EXACT setup, down to my mag-floats. They know exactly what I've got swimming, wriggling, floating, crawling, and sitting in my tank. And don't think I'm trying to harsh on you even more, but you have to make it a bit of your responsibility as well. Deep down, they get paid to sell things, but if you (as I have done, and still do, and will be doing probably forever) tell them what you have, what you want, and what you have been thinking about for future purchases, they will advise on your current purchase.

SERIOUSLY, don't think I'm being a dick, I just don't want you to get upset if you crash that AWESOME setup. (Which BTW, we weren't sure which Nano we were going to go with for my girlfriends setup, until I saw your's and decided on it, with the same lighting option.) And I'd hate to see something happen to those fish.

I suck with Octopii's'ss's but at the first sign of trouble, remember to move your precious over to the 55, you at least have a larger water column to maintain their. ;)

Well, I am honered to have made your tank decision for your gf! But I see what you're saying. and by the first sign of trouble. What do you mean by that, what should I watch for. All of them are healthy to me. No ich, eat like crazy. ect.

this thread is typicall...

in like 20 days he cycled his tank or whatever.. got what like 3 or 4 fish.. sps corals and all kinds of stuff..

numrous people tell him to slow down and he still dosent...

he did even know that gorg.. need low light and flow and such...

lol and once he already made a mistake of getting a yellow wrasse and a coral too early he said " ya i wont get anything for a while"

3 days later hes got new fish and sps frags and such hahha

im gonna stay with this thread for humor reasons

(I know that was all reall mean and stuff....im sorry for that but its true)

If your test kit can detect ANY ammonia, that means the cycle isn't up to snuff. And get them out of there. Nitrites as well are a good sign of a bad/short cycle. If you see the nitrAtes coming up too fast after a water change then just reduce the stock in the tank, or reduce feeding if you can.

BTW, that gorgonia is badass. I have 2 that were given to me because the owner couldn't care for them properly, and they sure look like it. But We're getting there. :D I was also given a Sun Coral, and have made it most of the way back. We lost a few "heads" but the rest are doing fine.

It's a photosynthic gorg you *******. I already know what I did wrong, you dont need to tell me twice. So GTFO.

Now... god, good luck with your gorg. I really like mine, one of my favorite corals. is your photosynthic, or is does it rely on foods?

I didn't see this remark when I first read it. At least when god told me this, he actually told me what to do. Rather then say (retarded voice) "im gonna stay with this thead because its funny". Wow, your the biggest jerk I have ever seen on these forums. Why dont you just go die in a fire. <-- I love that remark
