Starting 125 need advice

Have you check with thereefstop.com

By the way I shot you a Private Message last night did you get it? I know sometimes New people don't know that option is there.

Thanks, I got it. I emailed mark this morning with the link to the site with the skimmer for 255 by the time he got there the price had gone back up, just bad luck i guess. I asked him about lighting, do you use DE or SE I read somewhere on here that DE were better becuse they used less power per watt, were brighter, and were easier to change the bulb because the uv glass keeps the salt deposits off the sockets. He suggested i go with SE if price was a concern, but im not sure if there is enough price difference to warrant the extra hassle/ energy cost (if what i read is true).

Lonnie, do you think the Octopus Recirc Needlewheel 150 would (rated to 180 g) would be sufficient on my 125? I am going to email the place and see if i can still get it for the price i saw last night.

I Like the 200 better for a 125. I think the 150 is just like a ASM G3 and I think that works hard enough on a 90 gallon.

eels love $25.00 clowns, they prefer them actully to other food,

My snowflake has never bothered my clown, an arrow crab did kill one of them, but my lunare got the crab, so I have had the same clown now for about 4 months. My snowflake was probably the 3rd fish I ever bought and if I keep him well fed, he doesn't kill anything.

That being said, he has eaten 2 chromis (small ones) and I think he killed my 6 line as well. You also can't keep any shrimp in the tank b/c he will get those as well.

If you are going to get a lot of smaller fish, don't get an eel. Chances are that unless it is a VERY small snowflake, you will lose a few fish.

The 150 he was looking at is Moded with the Recirc mod... BUT not the mesh wheel instead of the Needle wheel.

You might want to start a new thread asking this. I wish I could help.

Some might even let you borrow one for a couple of months depending when you plan on buying one.
