thanks

my icecap fan arrived last night so i might work on installing it in the next couple of days, will take some more pics, i am thinking of making a bracket for the fan so i can just attach it to my canopy.
No problem.

I think melev has some designs on his site for acrylic fan brackets.

It's been a while...again... since I've been here, but I'm ready for another split so I can get a summary :D
I just hope I am sitting in front of my computer when it happens, because I would like to try and reserve the first 3 posts on the next thread for my summary. :D

Just found out the damage for speeding... $139.00

Not terrible, but like I said... I could think of soooo many better ways to waste money...

Burning it being one method. Located just below giving it away, and right above giving it to the police.

If you pay it, it stays on your record. If you get Deferred Adjudication, you are on probation for 90 days or so. Don't get a second ticket, and the first one goes away. You'll still pay a fee, but your record is clean and your insurance rates don't change.

I just got a ticket a few weeks ago myself. I'd not gotten one in years. :(

yup i saw that and will be using the same design but using wood and will just attach it to my canopy. not 100% yet will decide when i have the canopy off. i have all the tools to cut the acrylic, might have to check around town see if i can get some.

edit: i am sure you hear it alot melev but thanks for running your site, i check it several times a week to reference something.

I've never heard of that before. I'll have to call my buddy to see how to go about doing that, and if it is an option in Ohio.

I googled it real quick, but just came up with Texas in a lot of the results, along with higher severity crimes.

I could never understand how American cops can give out a ticket and not know how much it's going to cost you. In Canada our ticket prices are fixed. The dollar value is written on the ticket and everybody gets the same value for the same offence. When a friend of mine got a tagged in West Virginia on his way to Myrtle Beach, the cop said he'd have to call and see what the Justice of the Peace was going to assess as a cost.....What does he do, go into his office and spin the giant wheel and see where it lands..... Billy Bob, tell him what he's won......Congratulations Tswifty8 you've just won a fine for $139.00 and a chance to return to next weeks speed trap and try again...lol
Bottom line...how do the price tickets in the USA?

They are pre assigned. Depending where you get the ticket, the amount is on the back of the ticket. In Cinti, they give you a ticket, and a seperate piece of paper that gives you the list prices. No funny buisness. You can also look it up on the net, the ticket will have the code that tells you which violation you have broken, and you can find the cost that way.

Thats good to hear. I think it should be like that in every area of every state.

biggest ticket i have ever had was for $120.00 (about 5 years ago) but i fought it and got it down to $50. someone crossed the main road here and i braked since i was going to hit them if i didnt, i was mad so i peeled off, well guess what i got a ticket for peeling off since i own a nice little 92 civic SI with some mods on it since the cops were comming down on any modded imports. fought it but the judge wouldnt let me get off with paying nothing.
since then i have sold any extra "cool" parts for my car including my rims(/cry) and it almost looks stockk again.

Yeah my car isn't modded but it is bright orange. One of the many reasons I have held off on doing anything to it, is that I don't really want it to "stand out" for that exact reason.

£70.00 was mine plus 3 penalty points on my licence
So when you convert that, is about the same as what I have to pay? I'm not sure about the penalty points though.

I'm not really sure how they calculate it. I know there are fines set (which vary depending on where you are) for various speed intervals. Then I'm not sure what all gets added on top of that though.

after i got married and had my little one i kinda stopped with the mods and started putting all the parts i took off back on since i kept them in my dads garage. i have kept the upkeep of the car and have fixed anything that has needed fixing. well i have owned the car since 95 now and plan on retirement party when the car hits 20 years old in about 4 years. i lived in japan when this car came out and loved it, when i moved back to the states 3 years later i had the chance to pick one up at a great price.
