arrgh. Having trouble direct linking to my pics. Thanks for posting. I also put them here:

Pics

There's a pic of the green one fully expanded. Haven't had problems with them on the rock. They just droop over. Can't put him on the sand because my sand sifting goby would just bury them. The do get much bigger once they acclimate. It's pretty cool. Also, feed them. Really cool to watch. Mine eat like pigs. Funny thing is my stupid clown fish has started hosting in the green one. Rubs up against it and sleeps on it all day and won't let any other fish come close to it. Doesnt seem to bother the brain though. I just have to keep chasing the clown away when I feed him.

Definitely post pics of yours after it gets bigger. Should look amazing.

What are you feeding yours and how often? They look pretty healthy.

They eat mysis shrimp and plankton (the shrimp not plankton for filter feeders, bigger than mysis). I feed them maybe every 2-3 days. Thats probably alot but its so fun to watch them eat. Those pics are maybe a week or so old. They are actually even bigger now.

Here's a pic of the Trachy today. It's definitely getting bigger. I used the 70mm to 200mm lens on this one to see how well it performs.

I am also including another new coral I added yesterday. This was taken with the 105mm Macro

Very nice. He definitely got bigger. You have some very nice corals.

Been trying to get my hands on an aussie duncan. How do you like yours? Are they easy to care for? Feeding? Yours is beautiful.

My macro lens just shipped this morning :D

Congrats on the macro lens you'll love it.

The Duncans are real easy to care for and grow like weeds. I feed mine a mysis mix once a week and it has gone from two heads to five heads in two months. Right now it's been closed up since I moved it to make room for the brain coral. That was Tuesday night. The spot is a good one with the same light and water flow. It looks like it's opening just ever slightly. I guess it likes to move as much as I do.

I got mine Here for $40 a head.

No. It's the one I purchased.

If you are talking about my avatar the picture was taken under moon lights with some creative lighting for the flash.

I'll use that Forum when I do my next build which may be as early as this Summer. I would prefer a 60" tank (72" won't fit in the same area) with a 24" depth. This would make it 150 gals. I guess I could do this for the cost of a couple of nice lenses. :)

I would like to keep the lighting but would have to stagger the lights. Either that or spend another $700. I could probably add two additional 48" lamps to make up the difference (which would require another 660 ballast to replace the 430 I'm using). Then it would only be about $275.00 for the ballast, reflectors, lamps and end caps. Sorry, just thinking out loud.

Hey, sorry to keep bugging you but you have done alot of the stuff i am planing on doing. Could I ask you about your lights? I'm still debating MH vs T5's. If I were to go T5's, it would probably be the same setup like yours over the same tank (6x54W with 2 Icecap electronic ballasts over a 90gal Oceanic). The MH setup i am considering is 2x175w and 2x54w T5 actinics. Now that you've had it for a while, how are you liking the T5's? Do you ever wish you went MH? I don't really plan on any sps at the moment, but who knows.

Also, i finally scored some Duncans at a LFS (I was inspired by yours). I had problems posting pics of my brains before. Just wanted to test if it works now :)

Thanks,

I am completely happy with the T5s. If I went with MHs I would have a temperature problem which would require a chiller. If you choose the T5s remember to add the fans. This not only keeps the tank cooler but increases the intensity of the lamps. Also you did not state if you are considering the VHO for the T5s. This will overdrive the lamps to 85W. I would recommend ReefGeek for the T5 retrofit as their prices are very competitive and the service is excellent.

I have many SPS in the tank and all are doing just fine. I also believe some of my LPS may not appreciate the intensity of the MHs.

Congratulations on the Duncans they are a great LPS. Your picture is still not working however. I have added it below. Very nice. You should use photobucket for you images. It's free and works every time.

Thanks for reply.

Sorry to be such a pain, but can you see this pic? Trying something else. Not sure why but I can direct link my images at other sites. Just not this one.

Any better?

No I can't see it. I noticed your links may show up on the host computer but not in the thread.

Really you should try photobucket.com. Very easy to use and free.

Also are you using the (brackets IMG brackets and brackets /IMG brackets) before and after your link?

Brackets are [ ] I can't show the actual format in the thread because it looks for a picture and shows the red X.

Yes. When i post i use the "IMG" button and enter the url. This automatically puts the brackets IMG tags before and after. I think it is a problem with my image hosting service.
