I cleaned my whole tank out last sunday. I cleaned it spotless. I notice im getting small amounts of red and green algea on the glass. What can I do to stop it. Should I get some chemi pure elite and put it in the sump. Any suggestions. I dont want it all over my sand bed and glass

I have a 55g and I have about 10 snails in the tank. I used to have crabs and other stuff. Not any more. The crabs would kill all my snails. I feed them about 1 every couple days. Either brine shrimp flakes or nori

it is a new tank, you will go through algae blooms it is very normal. the best you can do is to use rodi water, and keep your nitrates and phosphates very low. in time it will go away on it's own.

I would also add some more snails, but get a variety of nass., asteria, neirte, certhes, turbos.

can you tell us more about your system then? how much LR, what type of equipment, what kind and how many fish. what are youir water parametrs? (numbers please)

how much LR?

what type of tunzes?

and your fishload is big IMO. 2 tangs in a 55 gal. isn't gonna help much with the algae problems.

I am guessing 2-150 watt MH's?

do you run any sort of phosphate remover?

Any chance with the change of seasons that the sun is shifting and shining in your tank more at certain times of day?
