It's amazing how many fish you have in there. Looks terrific!!! Makes me want to get more for my tank as well but it's a slow process.

Have you noticed any fish missing - getting eaten by your carpets??

Wait... was that dinner for one day??

Just kidding.

I see the shrimp are pre-cooked. Why do you use that instead of the raw?

Honestly it was cheaper than buying the one in shell. It actually isn't far from the truth. Feeding is a pain. These guys can eat!

I have seen a few disappear. I've also seen the carpet take out a fish or two. A pyramid that was sick and a Singapore angel that was dying went in. Never heard from them again

You are being too nice about it. There's people so unconsidered that they don't give a crap about the problems of the world that we all live in.

I don't believe is necessary to be so wasteful to clean a couple of totes. The top openings of those are big enough to fit a spray gun and clean them out. There's no need to be filling them up so many times for then to be drained down into the ground.

You are looking in the wrong direction. The California water problem is due to Alfalfa farmers taking all the water for irrigation. This alfalfa, which is a huge water consumer is then sold to the middle east mainly for feeding camels. Now that is the crime. However, you are correct. there was no need to fill the totes all the way up.

Sorry Locito, had to respond after reading that. Great job on the tank. Great read and great system!

No worries thanks. I honestly didn't know how many times I needed to fill amd drain. I asked around but didn't get a reply prior to the process :-/

It is not due to Alfalfa farmers. It is due to infrastructure and water containment to handle the heavy rain/snow years vs. those of light. There is a reason why we built so many reservoirs years past and why we can go from bingo water to full in 1 year and a snowpack greater than 138%...but I am off topic (although it was in here. Sorry op).

OP - the photo makes that starfish (linka?) seem huge. Is it that big and how long of you had it if you don't mind me asking. Nice tank.

Thanks saf. It actually is that large. Just had it a week. I'm a little concerned about being able to meet its requirements. Thing belongs in the sea.
