Starting up a 720 Gallon and seeking suggestions in Miami!

nice durasa clam. you get it from Vivid? they have some nice clams.

Thanks. I got it at a local store. Let's see how it goes. If all works out I can add another more colorful one in the future. Which are the clams that like to lay on the rock?

well the durasa clams like to attach their foot to something. i always just kept some rubble or flat rock pieces under them. they are great clams. the underside can be vulnerable to brisstle worms if they don't have something to latch on to. Very hardy clams otherwise. and beautiful. they grow fast too and get very large.

Had to renovate the Torch garden due to my beloved Stone crab. He likes to reorganize the tank.

He's a little savage. I thought he wouldn't make it since he was so small. Contrary to what I thought ha grown and is super aggressive to my other mandarins. I believe he may have led to the females untimely death and then my much larger male.

Trying to figure out what to fill this area with? Had the euphyllia garden but scared the tube anemones would become an issue. Maybe a bunch of large bubble corals?

the clam is fine in the sand. i just recommend putting a flat stone under it. hidden in the sand is fine. or just leave it alone. i wouldn't put it in the reef itself. they can get huge.

I am extremely jealous that you can get so many beautiful Fromia sea stars and keep them successfully. The LFSs around here are unable to get them in any fit shape. They all die within a week of arrival.

Ok, several things:

-you got a parrot fish! Super cool! Which species?

-Sea apple... also cool! How is it doing? Those are tough to keep aren't they?

-The amount and diversity of animals in your tank is truly amazing. I really like it!!

-Is your wall hammer receding? Or was it like that when you got it?

As always, the tank is looking terrific!

Oh geez! Sorry.

Wood! I need to touch some wood! :uhoh2:

No worries man. I think my system needs more time and I need to learn more about them. I slow drip them over an hour sometimes up to 3 yet I can't keep most of them long term.

Hey sorry I took so long to get back on here. Thanks! The parrots are Quoyi. Super cool always moving around. I need to learn to play with my lights to show off the colors to the naked eye. The Sea apple is fine. Had it for about 4 months or so. Also have pink and yellow cucumbers and clams so I feed supplementally. I try to vary it. Not really sure if I need to. One wall receded which was my original. I bleached it with too much light. The others are all good thankfully.
