Starting with 2 watanabei (genicanthus) females?

I've read several threads about genicanthus males reverting to females.

Might it be smarter to start with 2 females?

What's the probability I'd end up with a male?

Would 2 females fight if QT'd together?

Thanks,

Adam

Depends on QT size and also the size of the females. You would want to get two that weren't near the same size for best success. It takes between 45-70 days or something around that for one to change completely

It's a 29 gallon QT. Display is a 178 gallon DIY.

It makes sense that size would be a factor. I'm all about patience with this project, so long term far outweighs the short.

Thanks for the reply,

Adam
