Hello everyone! Some of you may remember me from the past with my dwarf seahorse set up. I had kept them for a steady 9 months happily until a massive outbreak of hydroids and a new cycle occurring after panacur treatments. I was extremely upset and very frustrated. After now ... 4 months without them, I cannot bear it any longer!
I went out today and purchased a 5gal Marineland Hex Tank, tons of artificial "Corkscrew Vals" (closest looking artificial plant to eel grass),a very fine gravel, a new heater, etc.
I plan to do this tank differently than I did in the past. I'm going for a "sterile" sort of thing. No liverock, live macro's, inverts, etc. All of which i had in the previous tank which very much so was probably the source of hydroids.
I plan to set the tank up within the next 2-3 weeks and let it run empty till spring (April or so) before I go ahead and place an order of dwarfs.
After keeping everything from fish-only to full blown reef - I can say that nothing is more rewarding for me than keeping dwarf seahorses.
So I will use this thread to document my progress for everyone to enjoy! Let me know what you all think
