Hello everyone. I am knew to the Tijeras area. I am going to be setting up a 100 gallon tank pretty soon but need a stand. I want to go with the steel stand. Does anyone know of anyone that can do a steel stank for me?

Thank you.

Rico.

Hi Rico, how tall do you want your steel stand and what is your tank dimension? If you just want the frame I could weld one for you.

I made my steel 180g stand, it's a lot of work getting it right...would have gladly paid someone to make it for me, but the metal was $FREE$ so hard to complain.

Even now I am second guessing my work, wishing I'd added braces on the bottom...

And end in the end I'll probably just use the wooden stand the tank came with and do all my life support in a closet next to the tank :p

oooo my dream stand is stainless with a tig...but salt creep on stainless ouch. gonna have to cover it with something....havent figured that part yet and glad i weld now if i could get some free stainless ooooo. but first need my own home then i can upgrade to a 150 or bigger then my 75 can be turned into a fish only tank or species tank and then......well i can dream at least

powder coating steel is cheaper than stainless... I work next door to Southwest Coatings, they do small/odd job powder coating for really decent rates.

I had a guy coat mine in this stuff: http://www.chirienterprise.com/Job-Marine/Job-Marine.html

It's used to protect tankers, bridges, battle ships, and truck chassis, it's not cheap, but got it for free from a guy who was painting the steel structure of a building with it, and had some left over. If it wasn't gonna be free I was gonna do a white powder coat.

Reefcupid I am looking at maybe a 36" high stand. My 100 gallon tank is 60"Lx18.25W. Email me at rico300@gmail.c*m (change the * with o) with a price on putting one of these together.

I have an aluminum. I painted clear protection stuff on it, It held up really well. I had it made, and He welded it with a tig.
