Hey Roger,
Plugged my nanostream 6045 in after waterchange tonight and the steel shaft snapped at the base. Looks rusted or stained or something. Tried to pull the nub out with tweezers for a minute but couldn't get it-- then thought I better ask u how to do it. How do I get a replacement & how much?
Thanks-- John in Gainesville, FL

This is a problem from early pumps, early on we were getting the shaft (literally) from a Chinese supplier. The quality was inconsistent, basically some had too much chrome content and snapped, some had too little and rusted, some were fine. We have since changed to a German company to get this part. The shaft is permanently installed in the motor and cannot be replaced. You need a new motor. Because we have changed the cover and drive unit and other parts the best solution is to ship that pump to me and we will send a new one.
