Stereonepthya sp.

I'm interested in your CCGC Stereonepthya sp. and was wondering if supplemental feeding is required, or if they can survive off light alone. In the desrciption you mention it will benefit from microplankton, marine snow, and dissolved materials. Are you reffering to Two Little Fishes Marine Snow?

Thank you for your inquiry. The Stereonepthya sp. can survive by the symbiotic algae within it for food if kept in the correct tank conditions. However, we strongly recommend supplementing its diet with a food specialized for invertebrates for supreme coral health and growth. We mention MarineSnow by Two Little Fishes in the added information for this coral, but there are many different types of invertebrate foods that we offer.

What kind of growth should be expected out of these guys?

Back in the day I kept all kinds of softies, and Nepthea species in general were always very quick gorwers, similar or faster than most Acros IME...

Because there are so many variables we are unable to predict exactly how much the corals will grow within a time period. Given ideal water parameters, lighting and supplementation this coral will grow relatively quickly in the home aquarium.
