Steve's 480g upgrade 730g total Zeovit system

Just a bit of topic guys

Steve
are you dosing any trace elements or amino acids. I am running into a questionable debate as to whether or not trace element and aminos are required.

Thanks

Kevin

Yeah, me too... My calcium was already too high but Alk was spot on per Zeo guidelines. I had to use some "other" salt in addition to my RBS and it jacked up my CA to 550!!! Still, alk was at 7.0-7.5 so I was ok.

I've got a dozen frags that I got about 3-4 weeks ago that are all encrusting well at the base and several others that are showing growth as well. Nothing major, but it's definitely there... Loads of coraline sprouting up all over the glass, overflow box and powerheads as well so, I know the calcification process is kicking in, full force!

I'm gonna test my params later today to see how far down the caclium has gone yet or not?

Dave, please be EXTREMELY careful with RBS make sure you test it before you use it...

Kevin, i dose some Zeovit stuff but no trade elements or amino acid yet. I will do AA later but no other trade element because my water change weekly is good enough.

Dave, please be EXTREMELY careful with RBS make sure you test it before you use it...

I have been testing so far just for dkh and it comes out ok... so far. I got a reading of 9 the other day but the salinity was at 1.027.

I followed Bob's recommendation of emptying the box's contents into 3 separate 5 gallon buckets mixing each thoroughly and then combing the 3 buckets into 1, again making sure to thoroughly mix the contents. I only did this for the second box, not the first.

So far the tank seems to be doing well as far as I can see. All params are good other than the sky high CA but that was because I had to blend two salts. The other brand I had to use in a pinch was the source of higher calcium.

This is my first experience using RBS... for the past 12+ years I'd always used TM and more recently TMP. Always had good results and really didn't want to change but thought with the Zeo, why not.

Only after purchasing it, twice now, did I read in a few places... your's being one, of people having problems with it.

What specifically should I be on the look out for if you don't mind me asking. I'd like to be as aware and informed as possible with it.

Btw, when I test my params today, I'll make sure to test my my fresh RBS salt water to see where it comes out at.

Your feedback is appreciated!

Or might consider adding some lights in your garage

I have enough light in my garage :D. I am going to add a few more VHO to offset the white color of the 14k

All you need is a Long-spined sea urchin. My Sohal was kept busy all day trying to give it a haircut :eek2: (till Ick got the best of him :( )

It never bothers any of my other tangs :)

You didn't attend the Photography presentation at MAX this year?

Rookie? You're taking a picture of a plastic reactor sitting on the concrete. It isn't exactly swimming out of the frame.

Don't get me started on your skimmer video. I thought you had to have been filming it deep in a cave.

As for the Skimmer video :D. I have to make it dark so people can't tell that my protein skimmer is actually bigger than me :D
