Stiff gate valve

Just wondering if there a safe lubricant I can use to loosen up the gate valve I have?

Gate valves get sticky over time. I don't see how you could get any type of lubricant onto the internal parts which is where the "stick" is.

Can you remove the valve? or are you hoping to just put a couple drops of oil on the handle shaft?

Its not installed yet so i was hoping to spray the shaft and the actual gate its self to see if it makes it easier to operate.

Then try food grade spray silicone.

I believe you can also use a edible oil, like vegetable oil, with out any issues to the tank after you set it up, but its very likely that once you get some water in the system, it will loosen up some.

I just opened and closed mine a bunch of times before installation and they losened up nicely. If it requires lubrication I'd be a little suspect of it being up to specs.
