Stigmata/Ember Blenny

So I got my stigmata blenny on Friday from liveaquaria!
I tried to do some research before I got him, though there wasn't a ton of information I could find about them. Basically I've seen some people say their's will literally eat anything, and others saying their's refused all foods and slowly starved to death...

I decided to try it out though because they are beautiful and unlike any blenny I had really ever seen before!

He spent all of Friday and half of Saturday basically sitting in the same place, not really exploring much, and not eating any of the food I offered OR grazing on the liverock.

Saturday night though I finally saw him skipping around the bottom of the tank and eating algae off some rocks, and today hes been ALL over the tank exploring and grazing. He still has not shown any interest in any of the foods I've offered though (Flakes, frozen mysis, nori), and the tank does not have enough algae to support him indefinitely.

Does anyone have any experience with these fish or any ideas of foods/methods to try and entice him to eat?

I'll attach a picture of him because he's adorable :)

i wouldnt worry. i have one too and it scrapes all day. i am sure it is eating scraps some where because its stomach is huge. they are more as an meat eater so mysis is good

Thanks lawboy, Im not hugely concerned yet just because he's so new, but Id really feel much better if I could see him go after my food! :)

What do you feed yours? How long did yours take to start eating well?

Hi,

I have a Stigmata Blenny and it appear to have the same ploblems as your. I did you make yours to eat frozen? Thanks!

Best Regards,

Jeam

I would get Iive pods and mysids.
Any live food is your best bet but you can try frozen cyclops or such small prey items like calanus.
If you had spawning cleaner shrimps that could be a great addition it would get newly hatched shrimp every 10-13 days.

Sparkle wet nori on a rock let it dry and offer when it's stuck to the rock.

Good luck.
