Still not hosting

Mine has been in the tank for a week now and my clown still isn't hosting. I have tried nudging him towards it with the net and he seemed to notice it from time to time, but he still won't host it. My goal was that once he does he would actually relax at night and have a place to settle down. Currently I think he stays up like all night and usually rest against the false wall near the overflow and lets the current smash him against it.

Yeah well.......a week later, still no go! Oh well, why did I ever imagine that those buggers would want to host my beautiful BTA! :( OH Well, I'll always hold out a liitle hope! Let me know if yours hosts. Rae

my ocellaris never hosted my huge gbta or small rbta. The female would get within the reach of its tentacles but that's it. I was on my 4th or 5th male (had the female bout 3 years) when I found him dead. That's a whole nother story (males would either die soon after bringing them home or live a few months at most and die - the last one got cuisanarted by a reversed koralia that I didn't see, I think. Just found his chewed up body being feasted upon by my cuc.) So I got a gsm that hosted within 5 minutes of introduction. N he liked the anemone so much he refused 2 come out n eat and therefore starved. I replaced him with another that is eating and he also was n the nem within hours. Fwiw I tried the pic of hosting clowns and the nemo algae clip without results. Some ocellaris just won't host unless its a ritteri or carpet. Even then, its not a lock. I dont know that I buy into the whole tank vs wild caught theory. The drive to host is innate, genetic, born from millenia of evolution. I dont c how generations of captive breeding could erase that. good luck with yours I do hope they host it!
