...for my new addition to come out of hiding. It's been 3 days now and he still hasn't come out of his cave. :sad1:

Melanurus Wrasse

It sounds like this is quite common for wrasses to hide during acclimation, so I'm not worried just yet. I'll post a pic as soon as he warms up to the rest of his tank mates.

What's the longest one has seen these guys hide out for?

Do you see him in a cave? That would be unusual cause normally a Melanurus should bury himself in your sand bed..

Know some people where some Helichoeres spend nearly 2 weeks in the sand bed before they came back to life

Can you see the bottom of your tank? If you can and your sandbed is not extremely deep look at the bottom of your tank and you will usually see the tail or at least a few fins of the fish pressed up against the bottom. When I introduced mine he only hid for the 1st night. Melanarus are not usually shy fish.

I'll try looking in the sandbed tonight...it's kind of tough because my view is obstructed by the rocks and that side of my tank is up against the wall. The fish made a quick dive for the corner and stirred up a lot of sand. I thought it went up into the rock, but I could be wrong. It could easily be in the sandbed which is only about 1-1/2 in max depth in that corner.
