I am having some problems with some sps showing signs of STN and I tested and my parms are:

temp:78
PH:8.1
NO4:0
PO4:0
Cal:440
NH3:0
Alk:7-8

Not sure if its the Alk being too low, let me know what u guys think?

I`ve been having a few issues myself. Can you post some pictures to see if it looks similar?

My KH usually is abetween 7 and 8 too

KH with 7 or 8 is fine, after all its nsw is at. Its important that the kh is stable though, and unstable kh can lead to stn, if the coral is stressed or unhealthy.

i usaly keep my kh at 7.5-8 that way i got some movement both ways, and my sps reef is healthy with good colors and growth.

I thought I had worms...but turns out it WAS low alkalinity. 7 or 8 is fine if you've always been 7 or 8. Mine is usually 9 or 10, and when it plummeted to 7 i had massive stn across most colonies. Once stabilized slowly back to 10, things took a few months to get back on track. The numbers really don't mean much...the radical shifts are everything.
