Stock stand modification

I have a reefer 425. I have reservations about screwing into stand to mount controls and drill holes to run hoses for dosing. Am I just being paranoid?

Stock stands can be pretty minimal and I've reinforced a couple over the years with 2x4s for my peace of mind. But I wouldn't worry about a few screws to mount equipment. Drilling holes is another matter. If it's a 1" hole for a pipe probably ok, bigger I'd be hesitant.

I've got a 425 and had the same reservations
My last tank was second hand so didn't mind but got this from new so didn't want to mark it.
I've have used velcro in the cabinet for temp controller light control etc, even my test boxes to help save some space
Only things I have put in screws to mount were the uv unit as it sits over the sump and my dosing unit.

If a few screws to mount things is enough to affect the integrity of your stand, it was going to fail anyway. Much like drilling a tank, if you keep the holes as small as reasonably possible and away from the corners and edges, you will be fine.
