So I am wanting to stock my tank with fish before I place any corals. I so far have the following fish
Spotted Rabbit fish
Magnificent foxface
Tomini tang
4 clownfish

I want fish that school. I love anthias. So want to see what you all recommend.
I'm thinking maybe 8 purple queen anthias and then maybe 8 lytail anthias.
I want to do a naso with streamers
I like wrasses but kind of want ones that do not fight with each other. I really want bright fish and stuff that catches your eye.
Here is a pic of my the tank

Good luck on the purple queens. From what everyone says, they're a nightmare.

I've personally loved tierra anthias. Very docile and colorful. But I've failed to get mine through qt. 0-15. Last 5 visibly had uronema after 18 days. I failed to have proper meds on hand.

I would consider a swallowtail angel. I love mine. Friendly. Fun. Fat. Rov turned me on to it.

I had a trio of Bartlett's, I got them from Diver's Den. Had them for almost a couple of years, they were wonderful, but I sold them when I was thinking of taking down my tank... Never did.

Just remember to have your tank covered at all times. They are jumpers...

I got my trio of lyretail from diver's den a few months ago, and they looked rough at first but all made it through QT and have been in the DT for a while now. They really do bring all the fish out near the front of the tank and one has already turned male.

BTW the melanurus I got from you is also fat and happy!

Anthias, and honestly smaller fish, including Tangs.. A lot less of food requirements and they are interesting.. Naso are awesome though, as they are so very calm and from what I've experienced hardy.

I would leave the clowns.. I have not had one that was not mean after a while. I still have one in my system, but my gf likes it, and that is the only reason why. If he ends up being rowdy, he's out!

In my 180 right now, I have a 1 spot foxface, yellow tang, pink tail trigger, arch eye hawk,2 bangai cardinals, the small Orange clown, and neon dotty.

I had much more previously, but I moved and lost a lot, including my naso.[emoji22] I also love file fish and had one until recently..

But I would try to keep the numbers low, and or do more smaller and like you said schooling animals.. But your list is pretty cool..

Since the chairs are moderately away from the display tank, I would mostly use fish that stay in the open water column, that way it would look voluminous.
For example, I agree with the Barlett Anthias. I wouldn't go crazy with crazy big tangs. Like instead of a Naso, I would use a Clown or Disjardini which swim around plenty. I would not get too many fish that stay perched or grazing all day or too small to notice from your bar stools. Just my thinking.

Great point of view!
