Stocking a 58

Hello everyone, I have a custom size aquarium that is 40 inches long, 18 inches wide and 20 inches tall. This is about 62 gallons.

My stock list so far is:

1 Eibl/Halfblack/Midnight/Coral Beauty angelfish
1 Miliaris/Spot-Band Butterflyfish
1 Fire Clown/Flame Hawkfish
1 Sunburst Anthias
1 Caribbean Blue Chromis/Starki Damselfish
1 Royal Gramma/Black Cap Gramma

I'd appreciate any suggestions for stocking as well as tips for care. I've been caring for aquariums for several years so I'm dedicated to provide the proper care to the most delicate fish if needed.

The butterfly is borderline for that size tank. But however you choose your options, it's a fairly aggressive list, and because of that, I would advise against the sunburst anthias.

Also to add that butterfly is not reef safe, so if you have thoughts of getting corals might want to rethink that fish, unless you're going to stay with FOWLR

I'm most likely going to stay FOWLR or only stock really cheap corals to see how it goes. Also, if the butterfly is too large I have access to Caribbean longsnout butterflies which are smaller, around 3 inches, and not a coral feeder.

I read that the midnight and coral beauty are fairly peaceful. Am I mistaken or are all angels a toss up?

Also, I do know the fire clownfish can apparently be a bit of a bully like a maroon or tomato clown. Is the flame hawkfish the same way? If so, are there less aggressive clowns or hawkfish?

Most pygmy angels can have an attitude, so if you do get any angel I would add them last. Always best to stock from least aggressive to most.

IMO, I would choose Cherub Dwarf Angel, instead of the ones you listed above. Also the Hawkfish and the Black Cap can become aggressive to fish equal/smaller to them.

In all honesty, I don't care for the flame angel. Sorry . I do like the Argi complex however, I just find the coral beauty to be the most striking color other than the midnight angelfish.

A fairy wrasse might be a cool addition. Very hardy and peaceful.

I was thinking of a pretty wrasse. I love the fairies but, I'm concerned about their color loss due to lack of females? I think I'd be over stocked if I added a group. Perhaps a mirror? Or would it be better to do a pair of PJ cardinalfish or a pair of firefish?

IMO, you might have problems with the Coral Beauty in that size tank. They can also be PITAS, if not given the right amount of space. I think most experts recommend a 70 gallon or more.

70 gallons is kinda vague. I see several different dimensions for 70 gallons. What size would be best for a coral beauty? And if it's too small then I can pick an angel from the argi complex.
