so i had a casualty yesterday. my mystery wrasse found a way out the tank as i found him shriveled up by my pillow.

so now i have to move on without him i am considering eight fish which could possibly include 2 clowns, 2 firefish, a kole tang, a foxface, diamond goby, and maybe another fish that is on the small size i havent yet decided on.. would this be alright then? i know the foxface is poisonous and know he can get up to 7 inches so he was really what i was concerned about here..

please let me know what you think and you can even add ideas for a eighth fish if you feel i have the room if you would like.

Skip the foxface and the tang. That will open up so many more options for you. Check my signature for some cool fish for a 75. Think wrasses and gobies. Good luck.

And remember, it's not about number of fish. It's about swimming room, territory, food availability, water quality, etc.

your stocking list seems pretty good to me assuming you have the proper filtration to handle the bio load. If you have a little bit bigger skimmer for your system and lots of rocks (with open aquascape and good water flow) i see no problem with those fish. yes the foxface might out grow the tank but if you get one small enough you might even have a bigger tank by the time that happens.

That's not generally accepted stocking advice. Yes, fish can be rehomed. But it's not good to build into your stocking plan. Get fish for the tank you have is the saying round these parts. Cheers.

kk i may pass on the foxface but i thought eight fish was a decent number for this tank, i guess hes just too big. theres lots of them at an LFS literally a block away and they are only 25 bucks, they look good. my 75 tank filters about 440 gallons an hr... sigh he is a very original looking fish. the foxfaces at the LFS are prolly about 4-5 inches long already..
